About Us
Dan Kazzaz is the founder and principal of Rapid Data Interchange.
In 1984, Dan was the founder of Paper Free Systems, a software company that created the popular EDI translation software package called ecMap. In 2001, ecMap and its extensions were acquired by Sybase and the program continues to flourish as the HIPAA integration software of choice for IT managers in health insurance companies and hospitals throughout the United States.
In 2002, Dan Kazzaz founded Rapid Data Interchange to continue to provide select products and services in the data management and transfer fields for the health care industry. Many of RDI's services support ecMap and extend its capabilities, making RDI an industry leader in improving cost controls and information transparency in the health care and health insurance fields.
In early 2005, Dan became the chair of the Accredited Standards Committe (ASC) X12, the U.S. standards body for the cross-industry development, maintenance, and publication of electronic data exchange standards. He was reelected in 2007 and continues to drive enabling of real-time adjudication (RTA) of health care claims, standards in the areas of health savings accounts (HSAs) and Consumer Driven Health Plans (CDHPs), as well as driving standards initiatives that reflect and fulfill transportation, logistics and supply chain business process requirements. With over 30 years of experience in large-scale data management, Dan Kazzaz brings the expertise and commitment to this industry to help it succeed.
