Sybase/PaperFree Extensions
PaperFree Systems was purchased by New Era of Networks in 2000. Sybase acquired New Era in 2001. RDI continues to develop new features that complement the Sybase ECMap product. These include:
On-Line Trading Partner.
As the volume of electronic trading partners increases, self-service and easy data entry become important concepts in terms of managing trading partners. RDI is web-enabling the Trading partner database. Functionality for this module includes the ability to customize the data entry screens by defaulting specific columns. This product includes screens for trading partner maintenance by both the internal customer/supplier relations staff and screens for the trading partner to perform self-maintenance.
On-Line Log view
The ecGateway and ecMap product update a database with their activity and status. This database contains a sequential log, file archive information and many other useful tidbits. A user interface into this log would be extremely helpful. This user interface should be web enabled, so as to minimize the desktop footprint. This interface should be tailorable to each group’s requirements. RDI is working on this project.
View EDI files
The databases described can point to the incoming or outgoing EDI data sets. Browsers can view the EDI data either in raw form or interpreted form. In some cases the EDI data set and its acknowledgement could be tied together.
